Summary
All of the members in our group agreed that these two leaders were extremely important people who played a crucial role in breaking the discrimination of African Americans in the 20th century. Their philosophies, however, definitely differed. We found that Washington promoted accommodation, learning by a mix of education and industrial labor, and adaptation, while Dubois promoted action politically, socially, and educationally. Their backgrounds also differed greatly, which could very well have majorly impacted their view on life as well as the things they believe in.
