      After discussing stereotype threat as described in class, it got me to thinking. Had I ever been involved in that kind of situation, had I seen a stereotype threat before? And to no surprise I did not seem to find it very hard to think of several instances where stereotype threats were present. The first thing I could bring to mind was a situation I found myself in a couple years back while in high school. I remember not raising my hand in math to answer questions I knew the answer too because there were a lot of boys in the class. I did this throughout most lasses to be honest, and while I never thought much about it not I understand it was due to stereotype threats of girls being good in school compared to boys. I have also witnessed stereotype threats. One instance I can recall is girls in my class not reading certain books because the content wasn’t meant for girls so naturally they strayed away.
